Takahashi Chikuzan Tsugaru Shamisen
Takahashi Chikuzan lost his sight due to an eye condition in his childhood. Around that time, he saw blind women making a living by playing the shamisen and decided to pursue this path. He traveled extensively, studied under Umeda Tōgetsu, and established the Tsugaru shamisen style. During the same era, Kida Rinshō was active, and they were known as the two great masters of their time. This album features 15 of Chikuzan's famous songs. There is a scratch on side B, but it does not affect playback. A photo of the record is included at the end, showing a scratch of about 1.5 cm in the upper right corner. Please refrain from purchasing if this is a concern. I believe I purchased this about 50 years ago.
